John Mang, AIA, NCARB, CDT

Managing Principal/Vice President – Charlotte Office

As Vice President and Managing Principal of the Charlotte Office, John brings 20 years of experience in the design and construction industry, offering a wide variety of planning, new construction, adaptive reuse and renovation project expertise. While he oversees INTEC Group’s operations southeast, John also provides leadership in our firm’s hospitality, multi-family, mixed-use and education practice areas.

A native of the rust belt, he applies his blue collar work ethic and tenacity to every challenge. His depth of experience on large projects with many stakeholders has led him to develop a collaborative approach to addressing complex building issues. With a dedication to delivering the highest quality level of service and product, he believes in increasing customer satisfaction by ensuring the right team members are involved with each project. John excels in relationship building, positioning people to succeed, and big picture planning. He ensures that everything we do as a company on behalf of our clients, vendors, and colleagues is to enhance the human condition.

John excelled at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where he earned both his undergraduate and professional degrees in Architecture. With his entrepreneurial mindset and desire to gain a full understanding of professional practice from design through construction, he founded and owned a design/build construction company that helped him pay his way through college. It also provided him with hands-on experience outside of the design studio. John is NCARB certified and holds a CSI Construction Document Technologist certificate. He is motivated by his great team of colleagues and the collaborative work environment that they have. He also enjoys the business aspects of the role, the client interaction, and the time he spends mentoring the junior staff.

In his spare time…

As a self-proclaimed performance boat junkie, John likes to relax on the lake in his speed boat and travel with his beautiful wife and their three daughters.

If he wasn’t working in this industry, he would…
