There Is No “I” In Team

…but there is an “I” in “Iplay.” And we like to say the “I” indicatively represents our entire INTEC Group team!

We’re the first to admit the name isn’t exactly original, but we love the essence of the word and what it represents, so we went with it. Ultimately, the word “Iplay” personifies our team’s initiative to engage our staff and infuse more “fun” into our workday. Who wouldn’t enjoy an impromptu game of office bowling or cornhole, an outdoor workout session on a beautiful Wednesday afternoon or a quick note from a teammate letting you know you did something special to enhance their human condition?

Our Iplay Committee meets on a regular basis to discuss upcoming events, plan activities or outings, research volunteer opportunities, and challenge the staff through contests. We’ve done so many great things since our first meeting in the beginning of 2016, it’s impossible to capture them all; but in an effort to inspire others to start their own initiatives, we’re going to highlight some of our favorite moments.

Our first few events occurred around particular occasions: the Oscars, March Madness, Earth Day, etc. But then we had a chance to introduce #EnhancementWeek. This happened in late April and focused on ways to promote our corporate vision of “enhancing the human condition.” Memorable experiences include a visit from a corporate masseuse during the work day and always a staff favorite…closing the office early to allow for personal time.

Next came #CelebrateINTEC week in May. The idea behind this week was to help waken our inner cheerleaders and spark each individual’s enthusiasm for all things INTEC. We started off the week by asking each staff member to submit a “proudest INTEC moment.” During our Monday morning all-hands staff meeting, these moments were read aloud, asking the team to guess who the writer was. This fun activity gave all staff members, both seasoned and new, a great snapshot of what’s important to our team! Other activities included a project site visit to see our firm’s efforts first-hand, spirit day where we showed off our corporate colors, and a game day which included cornhole and an intense game of office bowling. The week concluded with kicking off our summer hours schedule and closing the office early on Fridays, yeah!!!

Over the next few months our Iplay initiatives are going to shift focus towards wellness and community service, in addition to expanding our ongoing efforts to insert fun, non-work related activities into our daily routines. We’re looking forward to planning more events and activities that will engage our staff, clients, friends and families and continuing to find unique ways to enhance our human condition!
